Built in 1852, the Island House was the first ever summer hotel on Mackinac Island. It has drawn in numerous visits ever since. There are two restaurants located within the Island House--The 1852 Grill Room and The Ice House and Grill, serving a number of fine meals, appetizers and deserts.
The Island House also provides outstanding wedding facilities, complete with meals for your guests. The garden gazebo features seating for up to 120 people, while the veranda wedding is held on the large open-air porch overlooking the Straits of Mackinac.
Ths Island House is near by a number of Mackinac attractions as well, adding even more comfort and convenience to your stay. Mary's Bistro downtown features unique and savory cuisine filled with flavor, and uses the freshest local ingredients. Mary's offers both indoor and outdoor patio seating.
Also near the Island House is Ryba's Fudge, making the fudge for which Mackinac is famous for. Ryba's offers fourteen flavors of fudge, including the popular chocolate pecan, and guests can watch the fugdge being made live at the shop.
